Four runners on Shoreham-Wading River’s county champion girls cross country team received all-state honors.

Two-time defending Class B county champion Katherine Lee, a sophomore, was a first-team selection for Class B, according to the listings posted by the New York State Sportswriters Association. Junior Alexandra Hays was a third-team selection. Senior Kaitlyn Ohrtman and junior Maria Smith were honorable mentions.

Lee was the third-place finisher at the state championship in November after completing the 5,000-meter course in 18 minutes 54.7 seconds. Hays was 15th in 19:23.6 followed by Smith (20:14.0) and Ohrtman (20:32.2).

The Wildcats also ran in the Federation Championships in Wappingers Falls and finished ninth overall as a team out of 27.

McGann-Mercy senior Meg Tuthill was an honorable mention for Class C.

In girls soccer, the League VI champion Wildcats had three all-state players in Class A. Senior forward Megan Kelly was a first-team selection. Junior midfielder Alex Kuhnle was selected to the fourth team and sophomore goalkeeper Lydia Kessel was a sixth-team selection.

The Wildcats went 12-2-1 this season before falling in the semifinals of the Class A playoffs, 1-0, to Harborfields.
